TCC Award Winners

CH professors Julie Baroody (left) and Reggie Grant, and TCC Call Center director Melinda Rodgers were recognized in March as 2020 Excellence Award winners by the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development, a membership organization promoting and celebrating excellence in teaching, learning, and leadership at community and technical colleges. NISOD Awards go to employees who demonstrate outstanding commitment and contribution to their students and colleagues.
In December, TCC Foundation director Heather Mitchell and CH professor Reggie Grant received League Excellence Awards from the League for Innovation in Community Colleges. The awards recognize and honor those who demonstrate superb leadership and innovation in higher education in ways which permanently affect the College's operation in a substantive, measurable manner.

Great Work!

This section recognizes the faculty members, staff members and adjuncts who are helping to keep the College thriving, even while we're all spread out and mostly away from our campuses. If you or someone you know is going above and beyond, feel free to visit https://cpetcc.wufoo.com/forms/eagles-in-flight/ and let us know!

Daniella Cross-Wilkins, BSSE adjunct, rose to the challenge as faculty were sharing tips and challenges. When faced with poor internet service, she suggested the free tool VoiceThread. Using less bandwidth makes uploading lectures much easier with this tool and provides a great asynchronous option as students can leave their own text, audio, and video commentary. It's not for every situation, but is a GREAT tool that may help. Here is also a short video tutorial on how to use VoiceThread:

If you haven't met Brielle Crooms, executive assistant to the EVP/Provost, then you must make time! She has been a constant source of pleasantries and helpfulness for both colleagues and students; a calming force for all. She has manned the AA office daily passing out computers and supplies, fielding numerous phone calls, and assisting with Zoom sessions. She's an all-around rockstar at TCC and we are greatly appreciative of her!
