TCC Early Childhood Education Careers
Students can take the online college credit courses to apply for the:
- Florida Child Care Professional Credential (FCCPC – commonly called the CDA)
- Director’s Credential
- FCCPC Renewal
- Director’s Credential Renewal
- Preschool Specialization, Infant/Toddler Development, and EC Development Specialization Certificates
- A.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education
State of Florida Teacher Recertification courses (We have many online courses to choose from that meet recertification requirements for teachers of grades Pre-K – 12, call or email for more information).
The T.E.A.C.H - A.S. to B.S. Scholarship provides a great opportunity to earn your A.S. degree in Early Childhood from TCC and continue your education toward an online or face-to-face early childhood bachelor’s degree at many Florida colleges and universities. To Apply: Log onto the website: www.tcc.fl.edu Click on: Admissions, then Apply. Choose the type of student you are and complete the free online application. (If you are not working toward a degree at this time but would like to take the FCCPC courses please be sure to complete the Non-Degree-Seeking form when you apply.)

The five classes required for the FCCPC are:
*EEC1308 – Education of the Young Child
*EEC1907 – Directed Observation and Participation
*EDF1004 – Educational Field Experience
EEC1603 – Early Childhood Development and Guidance
EEC2401 – Home, School and Community in Early Childhood Education
*The courses marked with an asterisk are not required if you have an A.S. or A.A. Degree or higher, or if
you have a current and recognized CDA/FCCPC. You will be given 9 hours of college credit in these cases.
Director’s Credential Course: EEC2521 Management of a Child Care Center.
Director’s Credential Renewal: EEC2523 Early Childhood Organizational Leadership and Management.
