Through TCC's State Employee Tuition Waiver Program, state employees are eligible to take up to six in-state credit hours per term, on a space-available basis during the specified registration window. ****State Employee Tuition Waiver Process Change Effective Summer 2019****

Beginning Summer 2019, Tallahassee Community College (TCC) is changing the State Employee Tuition Waiver process. State Employee Students will be allowed to register during the same periods as all other students (during the appropriate registration window) instead of being restricted to a 3-day registration period.  Until Summer registration begins, all current processes will remain in effect. 

Summer and Fall 2019 Registration Windows:

45+ credit hours: March 25, 2019

30 - 44 credit hours: April 1, 2019

0 - 29 credit hours (all students): April 8, 2019

Registration windows are based on the number of credit hours a student currently has and this can be found by checking their registration details tab in EagleNet.

Waivers must be submitted prior to the fee payment due date listed on the course schedule. The deadline to submit a waiver for all sessions (including express and mini sessions) is by the last day to register for the MAIN session.

All current processes provided below will remain in effect for Spring 2019. 


All full-time permanent state employees as certified by the employee's supervisor and agency/department head, and by the Bureau of State Payrolls in the Department of Financial Services. State employees who are also receiving federal financial aid are eligible to use the tuition waiver. Note, State University System, City of Tallahassee and Leon County employees are not eligible for the program.  


The Program covers tuition up to six (6) in state credit hours per term. Textbooks, lab fees, the distance learning lab fee, and the student services fee are not covered by the tuition waiver. These fees are the responsibility of the student.

Available Courses

Web-assisted, web-based, developmental education and credit classes qualify for the program; however, Career and Technical clock hour courses and non-credit courses/workshops do not qualify.

How it Works

In order to qualify for the Program, students must register for classes on EagleNet during the established state employee registration period given that the program works on a space available basis. Tuition/fees for registration made prior to this date will not be waived. Therefore, students who register for classes before this period or who are "holding seats" will be responsible for the full cost of instruction for those courses.

The TCC tuition waiver form must contain the signature of the supervisor and the agency head (or Human Resources Director). The supervisor signatures cannot be dated more than two weeks prior to the registration dates for state employees. The forms must be turned in immediately after the state employee has successfully registered for an eligible course(s) to avoid being dropped for non-payment.

Steps to TCC

Apply for Admission

New students who have never attended TCC must follow the admission process and meet all of the established admission deadlines. In addition, if you are a first time student at TCC, you will need to attend Orientation.

Returning students who have not enrolled at TCC in the last twelve months must submit a new application.

Non-degree seeking students must submit the Non-Degree Seeking form each semester for which the student is registering.

Register for Classes

Check the Academic Calendar for registration dates and deadlines. Students must register for classes on EagleNet during the established state employee registration period. The program works on a space available basis.

Please make sure the state tuition waiver form (see Step 3) is submitted by the payment deadline on the fee slip or immediately after a successful course registration in order to avoid being dropped from class(es).

Because the College is closed on the weekends and fees are due at the time of registration, State Employees are asked to register for courses during regular business hours. Note, do not register before the first registration day for state employees. 

Submit a State Tuition Waiver Form

State employees must submit the State Employee Tuition Waiver form with both of the required signatures immediately after successful registration for eligible courses. The supervisor signatures cannot be dated more than two weeks before the opening of the state employee registration window. The Student Identification Number must be included on the waiver form in order to process it in a timely manner. In addition, state departments that handle their own payroll must submit a payroll authorization letter verifying the student's employment status, if applicable. 

Note:  "Intent to Apply" and "Participation Forms" are agency forms only. State Employees must complete the appropriate TCC State Employee Tuition Waiver form.

Remember that the waiver form must be submitted each session for which the student is registering and signatures must be dated no more than two weeks prior to the state employee registration dates for each session. Pay Remaining Fees​

Check your EagleNet account on the day of registration and pay all lab fees, the distance learning lab fee, third attempt full cost of instruction fees or the student services fee that you may still owe. These fees are not covered by the tuition waiver.
