All new international students at TCC are required to take the Post-Secondary Education Readiness Test (PERT) to gauge their levels in English, reading, & mathematics. If you have already taken the SAT or ACT, you do not need to take the PERT – Official SAT or ACT scores need to be sent to TCC via College Board. Official Exam Score information for: SAT, ACT, AP, IB, CLEP, etc, need to be submitted prior to advising. Notwithstanding, students must take the PERT prior to registering for classes.

Students can take the PERT with the TCC Testing Center or online in Canvas. You should have received an email about instructions on how to take the PERT online in Canvas. If you haven't received instructions yet, please contact the TCC Testing Center by clicking for their information on the website below. If possible, students should take the PERT early before they schedule their Advising Appointment with ISS.
