Woman indoorsKaren Bevis said she has a great deal of admiration for Tallahassee Community College, so much that she has earned three degrees from the College. Her desire to have a career 25 years after graduating high school led her to enrolling into the Help Desk/Technical Support program. Bevis serves as an information specialist at the College’s Help Desk.

After I finished my degrees it was time for me to go to work,” Bevis said. “I saw a position opening at TCC and thought it’s a great place to learn surely it’s a great place to work.”

As a returning student, Bevis said initially she was intimidated about attending classes. “Once I got into the classes I loved them,” Bevis said. “The professors were very supportive and would encourage me if I felt like I couldn’t do some of the work.”

Bevis said she recommended the Help Desk/Technical Support program to several people.

I would suggest this program to anyone interested in IT,” Bevis said. “You never stop learning and the career field provides exciting challenges every day.”

Bevis is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity and plans to continue her career goals at TCC.
