January 20, 2021

T2021 African American History Calendar Virtual Ceremony imageallahassee Community College is debuting its Cherry Hall Alexander African American History Calendar for the 21st consecutive year. The calendar will be unveiled during a virtual ceremony on Monday, Jan. 25, 6 p.m. on TCC’s YouTube Page at youtu.be/vbw-b72u8hc. The link can also be found at tcc.fl.edu and search “African American calendar.” In previous years, the event was held in person. Due to COVID-19 limitations, this year’s event will recognize honorees on a virtual platform. The virtual calendar debut will be available on Facebook at fb.me/e/24EgLh8Re.

This year’s theme is “The Black Family: Representation, Identity, and Diversity,” which features people representing the Leon, Wakulla, Jefferson or Gadsden County communities who work to preserve and nurture the family unit including, but not limited to: Guardian Ad Litem employees, Refuge House employees, Human and Social Services employers, pastors, (step)mothers, (step)fathers, grandmothers, or any other community advocates who exhibit leadership in the category.

The unveiling of the calendar is one of the most popular activities introduced by Cherry Hall Alexander in 2001. This year’s calendar will highlight individuals for each month of the year, a President’s Award honoree (selected by TCC’s President) and our newest addition includes a student highlight.

The calendars are free and distribution will be available starting Tuesday, Jan. 26 at noon in the TCC Student Union, Dean of Student Services Suite, Room 154. For questions or concerns about a hard copy of the calendar please contact Student Affairs at 850-201-8094.
