TCC, Division of EWD offers CNC Machine training
TALLAHASSEEE, Fla. (January 30, 2008) - Tallahassee Community College's Division of Economic & Workforce Development is on the brink of providing additional training opportunities for regional manufacturers.
Beginning February 11, the College will offer Introduction to CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machining. This introduction to CNC Lathe machining will use the LearnHAAS online self-paced training system along with hands-on lathe equipment training.
According to Beth Mann Pace, Program Coordinator for Manufacturing Technology, CNC machinists are in high demand. Offering this course will provide TCC with an opportunity to assert itself as a training site for manufacturers, both locally and nationwide.
The 58-hour introductory course will include the following topics: Basic Shop Math, Blueprint Reading, Gauging, HAAS SL Lathe Series Training and Statistical Process Control. The course will also include 16 hours of on-site, hands-on training.
Upon completion of the course, participants will earn a certificate in Introduction to CNC Machining.
Interested participants are encouraged to register for the course by Friday, February 8. Financial assistance may be available for currently employed persons of a Leon County business demonstrating a need for trained CNC operators.
