Associate in Arts Degree

Tallahassee Community College's Associate in Arts (A. A.) Degree is designed for the student who plans to transfer to a Florida public university as a junior to complete a bachelor's degree. While at TCC, students take the same courses that they would take as a freshman and sophomore at a four-year public institution.

For the transition to the university to occur smoothly, a TCC student must develop an academic plan that includes the chosen major or career and university prerequisites.

It is important for students to select courses at TCC which satisfy admission requirements of their desired major at the university. TCC advisors assist students in selecting the proper courses. There is additional information about course selection based on planned majors at each university at FACTS.org on-line system.

Guaranteed Transfer to the State University System

Florida Administrative Code 6A-10.024 guarantees certain rights to all Florida community college A. A. degree graduates. The agreement governs the transfer of students from Florida public community and state colleges. This guarantee does not include university limited access programs. The admissions requirements in limited access programs are more selective and may include a higher GPA, higher test scores, auditions and/or portfolios. However, community college A. A. graduates have the same opportunity to enroll in these programs as students who begin at the university.
