The Educational Talent Search Program, (ETS) is a federal TRiO program sponsored by Tallahassee Community College and Gadsden County Schools which aims to increase the number of youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who complete high school and enroll in and complete their postsecondary education. The schools we serve are:
- Crossroad Academy Charter School
- Carter Parramore Academy School
- Gadsden Elementary Magnet School(K-8th)
- Gadsden County High School
- Havana Magnet School
- Shanks Middle School
- West Gadsden Middle School
Through the program, nearly 500 middle and high school students are provided free college, career, and financial aid counseling each year.

Program Overview
ETS identifies and assists those individuals who are potential first-generation college graduates and show promise to succeed in higher education. The program provides academic, career, and financial counseling to its participants and encourages them to graduate from high school and continue on to and complete their postsecondary education. The program publicizes the availability of financial aid and assists the participant with the postsecondary application process. Talent Search also encourages persons who have not completed education programs at the secondary or postsecondary level to enter or re-enter and complete postsecondary education.

- Career exploration and aptitude assessment
- Tutorial services
- Information on postsecondary education
- Exposure to college campuses
- Information on student financial assistance
- Assistance in completing college admissions and financial aid applications
- Assistance in preparing for college entrance exams
- Mentoring programs
- Special activities for students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade
- Workshops for the families of participants
Program Requirements
Students must be in 6th-12th grade, live in Gadsden County, and attend a school located in Gadsden County.

Sabrina Stewart Melvin Sabrina Stewart is the leader of the TCC Talent Search team. She graduated from Florida State with her Bachelors and University of Georgia with her Masters degree. She has done a little of everything in education from teaching to being a School Counselor. During her free time, she really enjoys baking and reading. Richard Burns Richard Burns is a College Success coach for the TCC Talent Search Program. He graduated from North Central University with his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. He has done a little of everything as a businessman, educator, and tradesman. During his free time, he promotes boxing, sings, and works with youth. Terrance Roulhac Terrance Roulhac is one of the College Success Coaches of the TCC Talent Search team. He graduated with his Bachelors from the University of Phoenix and Strayer University with his Masters degree. He has worked in education in several capacities, including Admissions Counselor, Financial Aid Officers, Teacher, and Business Office Manager. He enjoys sports, reading, and a good movie.
