People who want to earn an industry-recognized certificate in an in-demand area and enter the workforce immediately have a robust list of programs to select from. Leon County Commissioner Kristin Dozier had the opportunity to work at her family’s construction business while earning her associate degree at Tallahassee Community College before transferring to the university system. Dozier gained on-the-job training at various job sites but said the building construction management program at TCC offers a workforce training component to students. Read More

U.S. Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development Dr. John Fleming announced today that Tallahassee Community College (TCC) is receiving a $1.2 million grant to support the Welding Technologies Laboratory (WTL). The WTL project will provide a state-of-the-art “hands-on lab” for students taking welding courses at the College’s Kim B. Williams Advanced Manufacturing Training Center (AMTC) on TCC’s main campus in Tallahassee. Read More
