TCC Jazz Band

The Tallahassee Community College Jazz Band is a non-audition music class that offers musicians an outlet to learn and perform a wide variety of stage band music, from traditional Big Band music to more modern arrangements of blues, swing, rock and pop music.

The TCC Jazz Band performs concerts at Turner Auditorium at the end of each Fall and Spring semester. The band has also performed in and around the community for many events – including the Quincyfest in Quincy, the Fallschase Balloon Rally in Tallahassee, and Old Time Havana Days in Havana – and for special groups, including the Friends of the Library, the American Cancer Society, and the TCC Alumni Association.

The band is open to all TCC students and may be taken for elective credit (MUN 1710) up to four times. Local community musicians make up the core of the band and anyone wishing to join as a community member may do so without signing up for the course. The only requirements are an instrument, the ability to read music, and a desire to have fun with music.

The band meets, every Wednesday evening in CH 165, on the TCC campus. The room is available from 7 p.m. ,with the downbeat at 7:30 p.m. and rehearsal until 9:30 p.m.
