The Talon

The Talon, TCC’s award-winning, student-run newspaper, serves students, faculty, administrators and staff, providing an educational opportunity, forum for expression, and source of campus information.

Each semester, students enrolled in JOU2420L publish six issues of The Talon, in print and online. Students earn three credit hours and have the opportunity to publish work and gain skills that may help them pursue advertising and communications business interests, including university degrees and internships. The class also sponsors students' attendance at communications conferences.

The newspaper lab on the second floor of the Science/Math Annex Building has state-of-the-art technology for developing reporting, editing, photography, and layout and design skills, both in print and online.

Readers of The Talon who are not enrolled in the class are also invited to submit photographs, editorials, and other written pieces for publication.

The Talon has been recognized repeatedly by the Florida College System Publications Association.
