A message from the TCC District Board of Trustees Chair, Mr. Eugene Lamb

Eugene Lamb photo I am honored to serve as chair of the Tallahassee Community College (TCC) District Board of Trustees for the second time since I joined the board in 2007. TCC’s mission is to provide a learning environment that prepares students for success in the global economy by offering higher education pathways, workforce opportunities and civic engagement experiences.

We are a community of learners and we take active steps to learn as much as possible to help us achieve our mission:

We listen to our students to learn what they need to be successful.

We listen to employers to learn what skills our graduates need to fill in-demand jobs.

We listen to community partners to learn how we can help improve the quality of life for everyone in the Big Bend region.

We join with our K-12 education partners to learn how to help students move successfully between high school and higher education and career opportunities.

We also work with community organizations to meet the needs of those who might not traditionally be considered “TCC students”—such as children in afterschool programs, teens exiting foster care and mature adults who yearn to improve their English language skills.

We know that every student in every program, in every course has a dream for the future. TCC is thankful for the opportunity to be part of those dreams.

Eugene Lamb
Chair, TCC District Board of Trustees
