FPSI hosts boat accident investigation course

HAVANA, Fla. (October 3, 2012) – TCC’s Florida Public Safety Institute (FPSI) recently hosted the Basic Boating Accident Investigation course conducted by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA). FPSI is one of only three training sites in the nation for NASBLA.
The course gave law enforcement officers from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission an opportunity to advance their skills in boat accident investigation.
NASBLA, with grant assistance from the U.S. Coast Guard, has offered boat accident investigation seminars to law enforcement officers nationally since 1988. During that time, more than 3500 officers have taken advantage of NASBLA’s specialized training. NASBLA’s courses also help shape boat safety regulations across the country by providing critical data on boating accidents.
In November, FPSI will host an advanced NASBLA course.
