TCC Workforce Development Adult Education Program to present Community Health Fair

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 24, 2014) – The Tallahassee Community College Workforce Development Adult Education Program will host a Community Health Fair on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. on the first floor of the Center for Workforce Development on TCC’s main campus.

The event will provide an opportunity for attendees to receive information from local agencies that provide health or prevention/intervention services.  The Fair will feature students from the TCC Division of Healthcare Professions dental, pharmacy technician, respiratory care and nursing areas who will have stations set up for blood pressure readings, dental health awareness and more.  

“The goal of the fair is to put community members in-the-know about free or low-cost health services that are available to them,” said Kristina Finch, adult education specialist at TCC.

The health fair is free and open to the public. Giveaways from various community organizations and chances for door prizes will take place as well. Participating community organizations include the following:

  • Access Florida
  • Affordable Care Act Navigators
  • Florida Blue
  • Florida Healthy Kids
  • Leon County Minority Health Clinic
  • One Blood
  • Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare
  • TCC Adult Education
  • TCC Healthcare Education Programs
  • TCC Workforce Development
