Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (A.R.I.D.E)

This is the NHTSA course that bridges the gap from SFST to DRE courses and to provide a level of awareness to the participants, in the area of drug impairment in the context of traffic safety. This course will educate the participant to understand the signs of impairment related to drugs, alcohol, or combination of both.

​To attend this training, the participant must be a Florida law enforcement officer or Assistant State Attorney, and have completed the NHTSA/IACP Curriculum Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Course. A copy of the SFST certificate will be required. Must be proficient with the Field Sobriety Tests. An examination of proficiency will be conducted.

 What Should I Bring?

​All materials will be provided for this course.

 What are the Expenses?

​Tuition for this training is provided through a grant, so there is no cost to you or your agency. Housing and meals are only provided  at no cost for courses conducted  at the Florida Public Safety Institute when the student resides beyond 50 miles from the academy.​
