MSHA Instructor Institute

The institute consists of two parts:

  1. MSHA Instructor Course 
  2. MSHA Part 48 Subject Matter Course 

Part 1: MSHA Instructor Course

This course covers "How to Teach" MSHA Part 48 courses. Topics include lesson plan development, creation of training aids, dealing with different types of adult learners, and types of training delivery.


Part 2: MSHA Part 48 Subject Matter Course

This course covers "What to Teach." All required courses under Title 30 CFR Part 48 will be discussed in detail using videos, booklets, and MSHA safety manuals. Training materials will also be developed during the institute.

For those persons not currently certified as First Aid/CPR/AED Instructors, it is strongly recommended that you attend the two-day ASHI or AHA Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor course offered separately throughout the year.
Classes may be cancelled if minimum enrollment is not met, so sign up early!  A 7-Day Advance Notice will be provided in case of class cancellation.
