The William D. Law Learning Commons

Logo for the Virtual Learning Commons

The goal of the Virtual Commons is to provide comparable services for what we provide in the Learning Commons to students working online.

The Virtual Commons is open as a beta test to gather student input to create a product that is more compatible with students' needs. Students  are encouraged to participate in this process by filling out a survey. The Learning Commons will use this feedback to make necessary adjustments.  The official launch of the Virtual Commons is scheduled for fall 2014.

The Learning Commons provides learning and technology assistance, resources, and computer access to all currently enrolled TCC students and university partners. A multicultural staff of learning specialists, tutors, student success specialists and faculty collaborate to assist TCC's diverse student population in identifying and using resources. The Learning Commons offers a broad range of services including the following:

  • Learning support, including many textbooks, calculators and hands-on activities
  • One-on-one and small group tutoring provided by faculty and trained staff
  • Study rooms and open access computers
  • Technology and multi-media support
  • Handouts, science models and electronic resources
  • Workshops and seminars

The Ghazvini Library and Learning Commons is located on the second floor of the Ghazvini Center for Healthcare Education (GCHE 240). It is open to all TCC students, faculty and staff.
