First Time in College Students

Students who are seniors in high school (or have graduated from an accredited high school), have not previously attended college, and are seeking admission to TCC for the first time are considered high school students/graduates.

Steps to Apply

 Step 1

Apply for Financial Aid and Scholarships

If you are eligible for federal financial aid, this money will help you pay for college expenses. You must apply as soon as possible as there are limited federal funds available for all students. You do not need to wait to be admitted to submit your financial aid application, Federal Application for Federal Student Aid, also known as the FAFSA. If you have any questions regarding your financial aid application, please contact the Financial Aid office at (850) 201-8399 or visit the Financial Aid Web site.

 Step 2

Apply for Admission

First-time students complete the TCC Online Admission Application

If you are a formerly dual enrolled student continuing your education full-time at the college, you must submit the TCC printable Admission Application (.pdf). Make sure you complete all parts of the application including the residency declaration; otherwise, you will not be fully admitted until you provide all of the required information.

 Step 3

Send Transcripts to TCC

Once you graduate from high school, remember to ask your high school counselor or registrar to send your official high school transcript to TCC. Do not send a transcript until after you graduate.
Please send your transcripts to:
Admissions and Enrollment Services
Tallahassee Community College
444 Appleyard Drive
Tallahassee, FL 32304
Effective November 2013, we no longer accept faxed copies of high school transcripts.  Official transcripts must be received via U.S. Mail directly from the school or sent electronically between TCC and the high school.

 Step 4

Complete Placement Testing

This test is not for admission but for placement purposes. If you have taken the ACT or SAT and your scores are no more than two years-old, please request that your official scores from ACT or SAT are sent to TCC. You will be required to take the FPERT (Florida Post Secondary Education Readiness Test) if you have not taken these tests. You can contact the Testing Center at (850) 201-8282 or visit the Testing Center Web site if you have any questions about the FPERT.

 Step 5

Next Steps

Complete New Student Orientation

All new TCC students are required to complete an on-campus New Student Orientation before registering for classes. The orientation program familiarizes students with TCC policies, campus procedures and a number of important student resources. The information provided through the orientation program enables students to make smart decisions when scheduling classes and provides strong guidance as students work toward future academic and career goals. Information can be found at  Or contact Campus and Civic Engagement at (850) 201-8420 for additional information.
