   Week One Photo Challenge:

Rollycoaster Sculpture

Dedicated on December 8, 2005 by William D Law, President, Tallahassee Community College

'Rollycoaster' is an experiment by the artist using repetitions of triangulated form. It is of special importance because early stages in the development of this sculpture inspired and led to the development later of the September 11 Memorial Monument in Costa Rica, which honored those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. Because of Rollycoaster's meaning, the artist is pleased to present this sculpture as a gift to Tallahassee Community College.

 

Week Two Photo Challenge:

Louis Hill, Sr. Garden

                                                                     

Henry Louis Hill Sr. served on the Leon County School Board from 1953 to 1964 and initiated the establishment of Tallahassee Junior College. He was then appointed by the governor to serve on the State Junior College Board. Mr. Hill was also instrumental in passing state and national laws to promote college student loan programs. This garden was dedicated to him by his family in honor of Tallahassee Community College's 50th anniversary in 2016.

The Tallahassee Community College Alumni and Friends Hall of Fame recognizes those who have demonstrated exceptional service in support of the advancement and continued excellence of TCC. These honorees personify the College's values and serve as an inspiration to our faculty and students. The structure was dedicated on October 13th, 2016 as part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the founding of TCC.
