Your TCC Orientation Experience

As a First Time In College Student or a Transfer Student at TCC, you are bound to have questions about your TCC experience. That's why our orientation is designed to help you get answers, as well as provide you with information about our campus resources, programs and services available to you. You will only need to complete your orientation experience ONE time as a First Time in College Student or as a Transfer Student to TCC.
Orientations are primarily held on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, (additional days available for Spring semester). As we are unable to accept Orientation walk-in appointments, make sure to schedule an appointment ahead of time and complete the Canvas online course accessible via your TCC Eaglenet account (see below). Complete registration into an orientation appointment before 4PM, the day prior to attendance.
Students Entering TCC Fall 2019
Last day to attend New Student Orientation for August Main session was Thursday, August 22, 2019.
|Before you can register for classes, You MUST schedule a Mandatory Advising Meeting dated AFTER your high school graduation and bring an official (i.e., sealed and unopened) high school transcript showing graduation date.|
Orientations for September Express will begin Wednesday, September 4th, 2019 and last day will be Friday September 13, 2019.
Students Entering TCC Spring 2020
Registration for Spring Orientations will open Monday, November 11, 2019.
Orientation Advising Appointment for Spring 2020 will begin Monday, November 18th, 2019 and last day will be Monday January 6th, 2020.
To get started with TCC Orientation, log into your email in Eaglenet and setup security questions for self service password reset, then complete the easy two-step process below.
1. Register for Orientation Advising Appointment
Schedule your mandatory on-campus advising appointment. Please allow 2 hours to to gain automatic access to the Online Orientation course in Canvas, accessed via your TCC Eaglenet account. Your Online Orientation Experience MUST be completed before you will be able to meet with your Advisor, at your scheduled time. You will need your TCC eAccount Username and Password to begin.Gain Access for Orientation Course
2. Complete Online Orientation in Canvas
Online Orientation, located on Canvas, will take approximately one to two hours to complete. In order to pass, you must receive a grade of 100. You will need your TCC eAccount Username and Password to begin. After you've completed the online orientation course; make sure to attend your scheduled mandatory on-campus appointment. Your appointment is when you will meet your Advisor and schedule your classes.Begin Orientation Experience
What You Should Know
New student orientation must be completed for both First-Time-In-College (FTIC) and Transfer Students.
Note, Transient students, non-degree seeking students, and returning students are not required to complete Orientation. These students after completing any required Admissions Paperwork, may come to the Advising Center (Student Union, second floor) for advising Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for in-person advising, if needed.
Please know your login information. You will need it to register and complete orientation.
After registering for the On-Campus Advising Appointment, the online orientation course will be available on Canvas within 2 hours.
About Your On-Campus Advising Appointment
During this appointment, you will meet with an academic advisor who will review your printed online assignments and assist with first semester course registration.
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your On-campus appointment, and allow 2-3 hours for new student orientation.
What You Should Bring
Things you should bring with you to Orientation include:
|Your 8-digit student ID number.|
|Copies of unofficial transcripts; high school and/or college (if a transfer student)|
|ACT and SAT scores|
|Driver's License or some form of ID.|
|Variable clothing for climate-controlled rooms. Some buildings and lecture halls will have room temperatures that cannot be adjusted or controlled.|
|Umbrella in case of rain.|
|Water bottle to fill up with water in case you get thirsty.|
|Money if you want to purchase any snacks or cold drinks, or want to shop at the TCC Bookstore after Orientation.|
