Electronic Systems Associate
The Electronic Systems Associate curriculum is a 44-contact hour program which provides an overview of electronics to acquaint the student with the principles upon which modern electronic devices (passive and active) operate. This course includes an introduction to the basic concepts of electricity and magnetism, electronic circuits, and digital electronics. Supplementary material from different resources will be utilized. Successful completion of this course will prepare the student for the AC & DC parts of the ISCET Electronics Systems Associate exams. This is a non-credit course.
Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA)
Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA) covers the major elements of Quality Concepts, Team Basics, Continuous Improvement Techniques and Customer-Supplier Relations. This is a non-credit course.
OSHA Safety Courses
TCC offers a number of OSHA Safety Courses for Construction and Other Industries.
OSHA 24-Hour HAZWOPER
This 24-hour online course is designed for hazardous waste and emergency response workers who must satisfy their 24-hour HAZWOPER training requirement and is intended for the following: new employees, hazardous materials technicians, hazardous materials specialists, on-scene incident commanders, management and supervisors, or anyone needing to fulfill a 24-hour HAZWOPER requirement. Course topics include: agencies & regulations, toxicology, types of hazards, hazard communication, levels of protection, respirators, detecting hazardous materials, hazardous waste, confined spaces, fall protection, decontamination, site safety planning, and site emergencies. Students will have 360 days to complete the training package and will receive a University of South Florida OSHA Training Institute certificate upon successful completion.
OSHA 30 Site-Safety
This 30 hour on-line General Industry outreach program is a comprehensive safety program designed for persons involved in industries such as; health care, manufacturing, warehousing/ distribution and retail. This program is recommended for supervisors or anyone with safety responsibilities, or as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers. At the successful completion of this course you will be provided with an OSHA 30 Hour General Industry card.
The Production Technician curriculum is a 120-contact hour non-credit course which provides the foundational knowledge and skill sets applicable to entry-level production technician jobs in the manufacturing industry. Successful completion of the course prepares students to sit for the four Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) Production Technician certification assessments. The following topics are covered: Production & Processes, Maintenance Awareness, Quality Assurance and Safety Awareness. Successful completion of the MSSC Production Technician certification examination will articulate to 15 semester credit hours for the Engineering Technologies A.S. degree in the state of Florida.
Surface Mount Technician
This course prepares students to work in a printed circuit board (PCB) surface mount production facility and cover the importance of EHS management systems, basic electrical/electronic circuit skills, SMT manufacturing processes, interpreting component designators and package markings, and key elements of SMT manufacturing. Successful progress in this course will award the student IPC Solder and Surface Mount module certification.
