TCC logoTallahassee Community College (TCC) received the highly regarded Exemplary Practice Award and 18 other Awards of Excellence today during the Association of Florida Colleges’ (AFC) 71st annual virtual meeting and conference. For the first time in the history of the AFC, the same school has been honored in two consecutive years with the prestigious Communications and Marketing Commission’s Exemplary Practice Award.

TCC’s Communications & Marketing Team received the prestigious Exemplary Practice recognition in 2019 for the department’s comprehensive TCC2WORK integrated marketing campaign. This year’s Exemplary Practice honor, which is awarded annually to the institution having the best overall communications and marketing initiative, was in recognition of the College’s Virtual Commencement Celebration.

The celebration included personalized packages for each graduate, a celebration webpage, slideshows, a graduation program, a video and a message board, as well as a letter to graduates’ families, individual graduation announcements, social and earned media initiatives and more.

“I am honored to work with an extremely talented group of individuals who are committed to teamwork and excellence,” said Al Moran, Vice President for Communications and Marketing at TCC. “We are extremely proud of the work we do and the difference we make.”

This year’s AFC recognition is in addition to the College’s 2020 awards by the American Advertising Federation for having the “Best In-House” marketing and communications team in the region, and the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations recognition for having the best Twitter account among any two-year college in the country.
