Florida Department of Education Division of Florida Colleges Chancellor visits TCC

Tallahassee Community College was honored to welcome Kathy Hebda, Chancellor of the Division of Florida Colleges, and representatives from the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) as well as the Florida Legislature, on Monday, December 6, to tour the College’s facilities and meet with College leadership.

TCC President Jim Murdaugh and College leaders accompanied the delegation which traveled to the Florida Public Safety Institute (FPSI), the Kim B. Williams Advanced Manufacturing Training Center (AMTC), and the Ghazvini Center for Healthcare Education to observe ongoing classes and see the most recent facilities updates. They also visited the William D. Law, Jr. Learning Commons and Richard W. and Karen B. Moore Veteran’s Success Center on main campus.

While at AMTC, TCC Vice President of Workforce Innovation, Kimberly Moore took the group on a tour of the brand-new, state-of-the-art welding lab that will officially open to students this January.

“We are very thankful to Chancellor Hebda for taking the time out of her schedule to spent the day with us,” said President Murdaugh. “We appreciate the opportunity to showcase the many wonderful things happening at TCC and are grateful to the Chancellor for her continued support of our students.”

TCC offers 70 different degree and certificate programs that encompass a variety of fields from business management and engineering to nursing and law enforcement.
