Tallahassee Community College Recognized in Most Promising Places to Work List

April 21, 2022

Tallahassee Community College (TCC) has been selected as a 2022 Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges award winner by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education and the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD). The recognition will be published in the May 26, 2022, edition of the magazine.

“It has been my vision since I became president to ensure TCC is an employer of choice,” said Dr. Jim Murdaugh, president of TCC. “We have the best people on our team, who work hard each and every day for our students, so we want to be the best organization we can be for them. I could not be prouder of this recognition of our institution as one of the most promising places to work in community colleges.”

TCC was one of 24 colleges in the nation to receive this prestigious award. Colleges receiving this research-based designation have focused on workplace diversity, staffing practices, and work environment in addition to being family-friendly, have great salaries and benefits, and ample amounts of professional development opportunities. Notably, TCC was also named one of the Most Promising Places to Work in Community Colleges in 2015, 2017, and 2019. The College is one of the few nationwide to receive this award multiple times.

In his congratulatory email Edward Leach, executive director of NISOD, says “TCC was nominated because of its best-in-class student and staff recruitment and retention practices, inclusive learning and working environments, and meaningful community service and engagement opportunities.”
