TCC Forensics Team Places Second in State Tournament

Tallahassee Community College is pleased to share that the TCC forensics team placed second in the Overall Team Sweepstakes at the 2024 Florida Intercollegiate Forensics Association (FIFA) State Championship. Additionally, ten members of the team captured the state title in the Individual Events Sweepstakes. This is the team’s third win in Individual Events Sweepstakes in the last four years.

Notably, all ten TCC team members were recognized as state finalists and brought home 30 awards over the two-weekend event. The squad also fared well as overall individual speakers, winning two of the top six places in debate and three of the top six places in individual events.Pamela Healy placed first, Aliyah Salce took home second, and Trevor Bell placed sixth in debate. In individual events, Elizabeth Blair placed third, and Grace Duvet placed fifth.

The FIFA State Champions include Elizabeth Blair for Informative Speaking, Pamela Healy and Josh Eugene for Parliamentary Debate, Grace Duvet and Aliyah Salce for Duo Interpretation, as well as an individual win for Salce in Program Oral Interpretation of Literature. Other State Finalists include Clia Brown, John Wickman, and Cassidy Cummings.
